Independent analytics & BI consultancy — United Kingdom

Analytics, BI and internal tools for organisations that have outgrown spreadsheets.

Langley Analytics helps organisations fix fragmented reporting and replace spreadsheet-driven processes. The result is management information that is clearer, more consistent and easier to act on — and the focused internal tools that sit around it.

Senior enterprise analytics and BI experience across Tableau, Power BI and SQL. AI-assisted development makes small, practical applications viable on real project timescales.

If any of this sounds familiar

  • Reporting has grown up in pockets — the same number arrives three times, with three answers.
  • Management information takes days to assemble and still gets questioned in the meeting.
  • Critical processes run on spreadsheets that only one person fully understands.
  • Dashboards have proliferated without governance, and nobody is sure which are still trusted.
  • Work is captured manually — forms, emails, re-keying — long after it should have been.
  • The data exists. It just isn't reaching the decisions it should be informing.

What I do

Three connected areas of work. Engagements are scoped to the problem — from a short piece of focused analysis through to building and handing over a working tool.

01

Analytics & BI consulting

Dashboard and reporting design, data modelling and SQL, and management information that stands up to scrutiny. Deep Tableau expertise alongside growing, practical Power BI capability — with the right tool chosen for your environment rather than mine.

Tableau · Power BI · SQL & data modelling · Management information

02

Reporting & process improvement

Rationalising fragmented and duplicated reporting, simplifying what actually gets produced, identifying the automation that removes real effort, and putting enough governance around it that things stay clean.

Reporting rationalisation · Reporting automation · Governance

03

Analytics & internal business tools

Focused internal applications, workflow and data-capture tools, and analytics prototypes — practical, lightweight tools that sit around your data and processes and replace spreadsheet-driven workarounds.

How I work

A pragmatic sequence suited to focused, commercially useful engagements rather than large transformation programmes.

  1. 1

    Understand the problem

The business situation first, before any discussion of tooling.

  2. 2

    Define the smallest useful solution

Scoped to what genuinely changes the decision or removes the effort.

  3. 3

    Prototype and build

Working output early, so it can be reacted to rather than imagined.

  4. 4

    Validate with users

Tested against the people who actually use it day to day.

  5. 5

    Hand over and improve

Documented and owned by you, with support where it's useful.

About Jonathan

I'm Jonathan Langley, a senior analytics and business intelligence professional. Most of my career has been spent inside large enterprises — a good deal of it in financial services — building reporting and management information, rationalising what had grown unmanaged, and working directly with senior stakeholders on what the numbers actually mean.

Langley Analytics brings that experience to organisations that don't need a large consultancy. AI-assisted development has extended what I can deliver beyond dashboards and analysis into focused internal tools — which means a problem can often be solved properly rather than just reported on.

Have a reporting or internal-tools problem?

If reporting is fragmented, a process is stuck in spreadsheets, or you need a focused tool built around your data, send me a short description of the problem. I'll let you know whether Langley Analytics is a good fit and suggest a sensible next step.
